In August 2010 we were lucky enough to visit the Tetons with Sam's dad, brother and grandparents. This was the first time I met Sam's paternal grandparents and I was incredibly impressed by their sense of adventure. It must be in their genes. We stayed at the beautiful Jackson Lake Lodge, wandered around Jackson Hole and went on several hikes high up into the Tetons.
This is the view of the mountains from the dining room of the Jackson Lake Lodge. The lodge is beautiful and is an absolutely amazing location. I would love to go back and stay there again sometime.
One of the hikes took us through a canyon up to this beautiful high mountain lake.
One of the best parts of this trip was getting to know Sam's family better and having the opportunity to explore a new place with them. We had all been to Jackson and the surrounding areas before but hadn't spent much time adventuring in the Tetons. I love this picture of Sam with his dad and his oldest brother.
The wildflowers were spectacular. Photographing them was also the perfect excuse to take little breaks on our long hikes.
Another priceless picture of Sam and his adventurous family. I love that they all have the same hiking stance.
