After we spent the holidays in Santa Fe, New Mexico, we headed up to Colorado to go skiing for a few days. Our first two nights were spent in Crested Butte. Sam's parents went to college in nearby Gunnison and skied at Mt. Crested Butte throughout college. We visited Crested Butte in the summer and it was just as pretty, if not more beautiful in the winter. We stayed right on the mountain at The Nordic Inn, enjoyed a snowy ski day, walked around downtown, bought some new books at Townie Books, dined on burgers and tacos at The Last Steep (try the sweet potato and black bean tacos) and Thai food at The Ginger Cafe (delicious spring rolls, drinks and green curry) , and practiced a little more with the camera. We took turns playing photographer while the other drove. We stayed at the beautiful Nordic Inn and enjoyed this view of the mountain right from our room.
